Ipswich members have submitted their APPLICATION TO RAISE A NEW SUB BRANCH.

Members of the Ipswich Sub Branch set out for their first official ride of the year together, in attendance were Mad Dog, Thumpa, Moe, Evel, Herro & Dutchy.
Leaving Ipswich at about 0700 it was an early start to the day; we headed to Shark Leathers in Helensvale for the Black Dog Ride. It was a great turn out for the event with the number of riders tripling from last year.
We set of at 0930, taking up a position near the front of the pack it was a great run with some great views and winding roads arriving in Beaudesert for a morning tea break and a catch up with the National HQ Sub branch.
It was decided that Ipswich and National HQ would break off from the run at Boonah and go check out Ned Kelly’s Motorcycle Clothing and Accessories shop and then head to the pub for lunch. It was a great day over all and great to catch up with everyone.

A small group of members travelled up the highway to Redcliffe to attend the “Dirty Love Kustom Cycle Show”, with a large number of custom bikes on display, live bands and a Pin-Up Pageant this show attracted a huge crowd and was a great day.

ANZAC Day 2013 was a huge day which saw members of the Ipswich Sub-Branch attend the Goodna RSL ANZAC Day Dawn Service followed by members of National HQ joining us to march in the morning parade in Goodna and then riding as a mass group into Ipswich to march in the main parade through Ipswich. Between the two Sub-Branches including kids we had 41 members march on the day as we commemorated ANZAC Day.

A BBQ was held to enable new members; Old Barnacle, Kaya and Chip to meet members of the Sub-Branch. Everybody had a great time with 17 members, guests and kids in attendance throughout the night.
5 May- 11 May 13
Ipswich Sub-Branch Sergeant Major “TB” rode from Brisbane to Cairns on “The Long Ride 2013” as part of a group of Service members and Defence civilians from RAAF Base Amberley to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and Men’s Health Issues. They were joined by riders from all over Australia as they rode up to Cairns.
5 May 13
Mad Dog, Moe and Evel along with guests Daniel and Vixen rode in the Saints CMC Blessing of the Bikes Run. With a great attendance from the biker community; the ride started from Zillmere and headed out to the Crown Hotel, Dayboro for a quick breakfast provided by the Saints CMC and then continued onto the D’Aguilar Hotel, D’Aguilar for a quick drink. Heading down the D’Aguilar Hwy onto the Bruce Hwy we rode back to Zillmere for a BBQ lunch provided by the Saints CMC. Following lunch a service was held, with a mass Blessing of the Bikes and riders in attendance.

A group of members led by SPY rode a relaxed ride from Goodna out to the Roadvale Hotel for lunch. It was a great country style pub with good service and great food.Sunday 16

A BBQ was held for members and their guests with a good turnout of members happy to sit around the fire pit to escape the cold.
2 June 13
A small group of members attended the Mutdapilly Scenic Rim Swap Meet and Car Show, along with country style markets this event attracted a huge crowd and was well worth the look with a couple of old bikes on display from Panorama Antique Collection. With storm clouds closing in, those on bike decided to leave while the going was good.
7 June and Saturday 8 June 13
Operation Round Up held at VAC Slipper saw a huge number of members from several Sub-Branches come together to celebrate the clubs 4th birthday. This was a great event that allowed members to mix and chat about the club and their own experiences.
16 June 13
Several members and a few guests attended the Aviation Heritage Centre at RAAF Base Amberley for the Centre’s 2nd birthday celebration and the 40th anniversary of the F-111’s arrival at Amberley. Following a tour of the Centre and the official celebration, we headed to the Walloon Hotel for lunch and enjoyed another great feed at a local country pub.
29 June 13
Members of the Ipswich Sub-Branch participated in the Reserve Forces Parade and attended the Recognition Ceremony held in Ipswich to acknowledge the contribution that Reservists make to the ADF. We enjoyed having a chat with a couple of old nasho’s that performed the cenotaph honour guard.

The Scenic Rim, Lockyer Powerfest was held at Lake Dyer near Laidley. Members and their kids were able to watch the Powerboats racing on the Lake as well as being able to have a look, up close at some of the powerboats on display. Also held on the day was a car show with a wide range of custom and classic cars displayed. A family BBQ lunch was held at Spider’s place following our visit to the Powerfest.
Sat 13 July saw several Ipswich members participate in the “Red Ride for Life” to support the Australian Red Cross Blood Bank with a large number of bikers on the day rolling up their sleeves to donate blood.
Sun 28 July saw a large group of members come together from both Ipswich and National HQ Sub-Branches to ride in the “Christmas in July” Charity Ride for Camp Quality. With an overcast day we headed off from Murarrie Recreational Grounds up to the Pelican Park at Clontarf with several showers giving the bikes a wash along the motorway.
Sun 18 Aug: Members from National HQ joined Ipswich members to participate in the Veterans Day Commemoration Service held at the Goodna RSL.
Fri 30 Aug: The Ipswich Sub-Branch was formally endorsed by the National Executive during their monthly meeting at VAC Slipper.
Sat 31 Aug: A small group of members from the Ipswich Sub-Branch worked a staggered shift to help the Ipswich Legacy Group with their funding raising sausage sizzle at Bunning’s Booval.
Sept: Legacy week saw members of the Ipswich Sub-Branch support the Ipswich Legacy Group through the manning of stalls selling badges and small groups of members collecting donations at several hotels in the wider Ipswich area raising $857.65 for Legacy.
Sun 22 Sep saw Mad Dog, TB, Fire and Cracker visit a memorial shed being built at MT Tamborine by Chris and Amanda Lambert in memory of their son Private Matthew Lambert KIA Afghanistan 2011. It was an honour to meet some of Matt’s family and friends and learn a bit about him, from his career in the Army to his passion for riding motorbikes with his dad and their mates.
Sun 6 Oct saw several members participate in the Down Syndrome Awareness Ride, with approx. 180 bikes in attendance and $8500 raised for the kids.
Sun 27 Oct a small group of bikes headed to Aratula for smoko with a ride around the mountain to Mt Alford and then through Boonah back to Ipswich.
Sat 2 Nov, Ned Kelly’s Rain in November and Harry’s Old School Bike Show was held at the Mt Alford Hotel. There was some great bikes on show with several stalls selling motorcycling accessories at bargain prices with a live band entertaining the large turnout.
Mon 11 Nov saw members spread out with work commitments but Old Barnacle, Kaya, RB and Sony represented the Sub-Branch at the Ipswich RSL Remembrance Day service.
16-17 Nov saw the Sub-Branch hold its end of year function as an overnight camp near Aratula, the weather over the weekend gave us the opportunity to enjoy morning sunshine followed by afternoon storms with hail.
Sun 2 Feb saw Ipswich members visit the Matthew Lambert Memorial Shed at MT Tambourine for smoko which turned into a BBQ lunch with Chris and Amanda. The Ipswich Sub-Branch has visited “Matt’s” Shed several times now and we were pleased to offer a small token of our gratitude, by donating a Coffee machine to Chris and Amanda to set up in the Shed. We will continue to visit Chris and Amanda at “Matt’s” shed and offer our support were we can. Lest We Forget.
Sun 9 Feb Evel and Mad Dog rode in the Rene’s Ryders fundraising ride for the underprivileged, the ride took us from Goodna up to Esk and then out to the Farmers Arms Tavern, Cabarlah for lunch and then onto the Sundowner Saloon for a refreshment on the way home. There was a good turnout of riders that enjoyed the day and helped a worthy charity.
Sat 8 Mar. Members from the Ipswich Sub-Branch attended the Vietnam Veterans & Veterans MC Annual Bike, Trike and Hot-rod show. With a huge range of bikes and cars on display as well as merchandise stalls, the huge crowd appeared to enjoy the day. Members of the Cooloola Coast Sub-Branch arrived early afternoon and got together with Ipswich members for a meet and greet and a look around the show.
Sun 23 Mar. Mad Dog, TB, Herro, Cracker and Fire rode up to the Sunshine Coast to participate in the Black Dog Ride raising awareness for Depression and Suicide Prevention. Members from the Cooloola Coast Sub-Branch attend as well and it was great to see the Military Brotherhood MMC regalia spread throughout the large group of riders that turned up to support this 1 day.
